    Frequently asked questions

Are my PDFs uploaded to a server?

No. Merging and splitting run entirely in your browser using the open-source pdf-lib engine. The engine's library file loads from a public CDN (cdnjs), but your PDF files themselves are never uploaded anywhere — unlike iLovePDF and similar services, your files never leave your browser.

What page ranges can I extract?

Use comma-separated pages and ranges like 1-3, 5, 8-10, or type all to keep every page. Page numbers start at 1, and duplicates are removed automatically.

Is there a file size limit?

There is no artificial limit, but because everything runs locally, very large PDFs (hundreds of megabytes) are bound by your device's available memory.

Why does it say the PDF engine failed to load?

The pdf-lib engine loads from a CDN. If an ad blocker or firewall blocks third-party scripts — or you are offline — the engine cannot start. Allow scripts from cdnjs.cloudflare.com for this page, or check your connection and reload.
